The Elves are the oldest mortal race in this world. Before even when the dragons ruled this place there existed a vast Elven empire, the Emerald Empire, which spanned both the continents of Dimitar and Mitra. The Elves currently in Dimitar or the Golden Sea share different origins or reasons they reside in Dimitar. Some might descend from ancient Elven Houses that settled at some point in the past while others might be migrants (or descendants of) from further South.

Elves in Dimitar and the Golden Sea

The Elves that migrate from further South originally do so because of persecution and discrimination from the Burning Empire. The Elves would be emigrating either from Empire settlements or from the remnants of the Emerald Empire which still exists within Mitra.

There are also other Elves which have lived in the region for many generations, tracing their origin to the ancient Emerald Empire. These old houses are usually well integrated into local society, with many holding governing duties themselves and even sovereignty over different regions.

Elves of the Elven Coast

The Elves which settled along the Elven Coast keep to themselves mainly in a more isolated society whereas the coastal cities participate in trade with the Golden Sea. These Elves originally came from a large wave of migrants who call themselves the Emerald Enclave and govern themselves as so today. These Elves worship Alfaael, the “First Elf” according to their doctrine.

Wood Elves

The Elves that most folks would see across the world might be considered as “High Elves” while the Elves originating from the Evergreen Valley are referred to as “Wood Elves”. These Elves are nomadic in nature, and many tribes exist today in isolation from the rest of the continent. Many have, overtime, migrated outside and into the surrounding regions, where the majority settled within the Verdant Vale, creating the large Half-Elf diaspora seen today.

Elves in Mitra

Elves within Mitra mostly reside in the remnants of the Emerald Empire, within a region which they still hold sovereignty over. The Elves mostly stay in this region due to their isolationist attitude but to also flee persecution from the Burning Empire. Elves have also resided within the Burning Empire but most if not all will have likely fled North or to the Emerald Empire. Those still remaining under their governance might live in poverty or the watchful gaze of those untrusting of Elves.
