Golden Sea
The Golden Sea is a sea connected mainly to the Sapphire Sea, and almost completely enclosed by land: on the north by the Golden Plains and Verdant Vale of Dimitar, on the south by the Dragonholds of Mitra, and to the east by the Konstantine Strait connecting the Golden Sea to the Endless Sea.
Maybe refer to the region part as the Golden Isles? Golden Sea being the greater sea containing the numerous islands and subregions?
Maybe it's man made, a gulf type area that was once mostly land?
The Golden Sea holds many islands and coastal regions which are home to a number of different states and unique cultures leading to the Golden Sea being referred to as a region of its own.
Culture
The culture of the Golden Sea is a diverse blend of cutoms and traditions that have been practiced by the various cities and states of the region for centuries.
The subregions and islands in the Golden Sea can be divided into six groups:
- Orcholds
- Emerald Enclave coastal and island settlements
- The Cities or Golden Isles?
- Verdant Vale coastal and island settlements (or Verdant Isles?)
- Dragonholds coastal and island settlements
- Tamarand and Dragonheart coastal and island settlements
These regions are defined by the shared allegiances they hold and cultural similarities they might share as a result, including common deity worship, governments, and races? The Cities is the collection of cities and states which are independent of any shared government, and are usually the places commonly associated with the Golden Sea as a region itself, whereas the other sub-regions are usually associated with the government they are ruled by or the culture they share.
Demographics
The Golden Sea is known to be a melting pot/mosaic of numerous cultures and races across the Material World and beyond.
History
Geography
The Golden Sea is an elongated embayment extending from the Sapphire Sea and covers about x square kilometers (x sq mi) in area, measuring about x km (x mi) longitudinally and x km (x mi) latitudinal. The sea's maximum depth is x m (x ft), located at a point west of x. The Konstantine Strait marks the eastern boundary of the sea with a connection to the Endless Sea, while Dimitar marks the north and the Dragonholds the south.
Many of the Golden islands, or island chains, are geographical extensions of the mountains from the Dragonholds. A number of islands are said to have been formed through the use of magic, such as forced sinking of parts of Dimitar or forced volcanic activity within the Golden Sea itself. Many of the islands closer to the Dimitari mainland are said to be formed as a result of surrounding land being sunken through magical intervention.
